Allison Stewart of Meansville was inducted into the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi).

Allison Stewart of Meansville was recently inducted into Georgia Southwestern State University's chapter of the National Honor Society for Leadership and Success.

Sigma Alpha Pi is the country's largest honor society for leadership. Students are selected for membership based on academic standing or leadership potential. Stewart was one of 65 members inducted during the society's spring member induction ceremony.

During the ceremony, the society also recognized several faculty and student members with awards.

Faculty members who were honored are below.

Honorary Membership: Dr. Carol Bishop, Amber DeBaise and Dr. Elizabeth Wilson

Excellence in Teaching: Kay Pace, Dr. Teresa Teasley and Joseph Warther

Excellence in Service: Dreena Hoffman, Kershawnda Johnson and Linda Randall

Students who were honored with the National Engaged Leader Award (NELA) were: Kemyatta President- President, Charity Williamson - SNT Coordinator, Taryn Burns, Alexis McGarvey, Kelsey Roberts, Debra Stanfield and Jade Turner
