Javier Abendano wins $1000 Preview Day Scholarship at Georgia Southwestern

Berkmar High School senior Javier Abendano of Lilburn was the beneficiary of a special scholarship for students who attend Preview Day at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. Abendano was awarded a $1000 scholarship for attending the Oct. 29 Preview Day.

Only high school juniors and seniors who attend Preview Day are eligible to enter the $1000 scholarship drawing. The Preview Day Scholarship must be used during the academic year immediately following the recipient's high school graduation. Recipients will receive $500 for fall semester and $500 for spring semester. The scholarship is for one year, and students can only win once.

Held three times each academic year, Georgia Southwestern Preview Days include campus tours, opportunity to meet faculty in all areas of interest, and sessions about financial aid and university housing. The Oct. 29 Preview Day brought more than 150 prospective students and their families to GSW and the Americus Community.
