Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) hosted its second annual Hurricane Pitch competition on Tuesday, April 23 for entrepreneurial students with dreams of starting their own small businesses in the communities they call home.

Miriam Rodriguez, a senior nursing student from Fort Valley, Ga., won the Global Initiatives in Nursing International Photo Contest at the 63rd Annual Convention of the National Student Nurse Association (NSNA) held in Phoenix, Ariz., April 7-12, 2015.

Five students participated in GSW's Enactus presentation team at the National Competition in Cincinnati, Oh. Their presentation team qualified for the quarterfinal round (top 130) out of 300 teams from colleges across the country. Each year, the Enactus team and its members put in hundreds of service hours within the local community and report on their impact through presentation at the national competition.
