Five students participated in GSW's Enactus presentation team at the National Competition in Cincinnati, Oh. Their presentation team qualified for the quarterfinal round (top 130) out of 300 teams from colleges across the country. Each year, the Enactus team and its members put in hundreds of service hours within the local community and report on their impact through presentation at the national competition.

Georgia Southwestern State University offers a range of study abroad opportunities to its students, including the upcoming service learning program to Peru during spring break and a program to Bulgaria during the first summer session. In addition to these short visits, students are able to attend colleges abroad for semesters at a time. It is this route that Mikaela Shimko from Cumming, Ga. decided to take.
